The Bunkhouse at The New Inn Ystradfellte is the perfect spot to crash after a hard day’s adventuring. Nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park, with spectacular waterfalls a short walk away, within 10 mins drive of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, and just 20 mins drive from Bike Park Wales there is no shortage of places to explore
Located just 10 yards across the road from the pub, the bunkhouse sleeps up 19 in two bedrooms, one sleeping 11 in bunks, and the other sleeping 8 in side-by-side twin beds. Hot showers and WC in each room provide the essentials and the cosy farmhouse kitchen is the heart and soul. Perfect for gathering, the bunkhouse is booked to groups of more than 8 people, and payable per head. Bedding can be added as an extra, or bring your own. Please note that whilst dogs are very welcome in the pub, the bunkhouse is NOT dog-friendly.
Sleeping 18 in 4 double/twin beds and 5 bunks over 2 rooms, the Bunkhouse has self catering facilities in a farmhouse kitchen and warm showers within a lovingly decorated old barn. The perfect place to escape to, with no phone signal this really is the perfect place to disconnect from the daily pressures and reconnect with the natural and social world around you. If you really need to stay in touch, mobile signal and 4G can be accessed within a half mile walk/drive and it may be possible to access WIFI via the pub. Please be aware that whilst we very much welcome dogs in the pub and campsite, the bunkhouse is a no dog area.
The camping arrangements are informal, a basic field is available. Open fires are permitted only in already established areas with pitching areas claimed on arrival on a first come first served basis. There is no firewood available for sale in the area, please bring this with you.
There are no shower facilities. Toilet facilities at the pub (across a country lane) are available during opening hours. When the pub is closed, access is available to the gents toilets for both sexes, giving access to a toilet cubicle and sink. Outside tap is available for drinking water.
The cost is £5 per person per night, payable in the pub on arrival.
All rubbish must be taken away with you at the end of your stay.
Being a remote rural location, the nearest shop for basic items is 2 miles away, with supermarkets/petrol stations/cash machines 5 miles away. Public transport does not service the area and taxis are hard to come by. Phone signal is not available on any network in the village of Ystradfellte, but 4G can be accessed on most networks by taking a half mile walk/drive along any road. WIFI can be accessed in the pub to check emails/social media but is not suitable for streaming. You may be able to pick up WIFI in the camping field but connectivity is not guaranteed.
